Welcome to our Called to Love: Egypt M site.

We have created this website and blog for a few purposes. We want to encourage the online community that God's work is not over as long as there are obedient and willing hearts. Second of all, we want this community to support and lift us up in prayer, as we present requests, ask for supplication or have thanksgiving. We will be posting about our thoughts, experiences and spiritual growth because it is the passion of our team to be held accountable to the body of Christ, to God and to ourselves; and we recognize that God calls us to be this way.

Please leave your thoughts and responses in the Comments section of each of our blogs.

It is indeed difficult to say goodbye, especially to say goodbye for so many times on the same day.

The Sudanese children and the teachers - We have the party this morning, together with their parents. We have songs, summary of what the kids have learnt, sharing, short message ... I haven't said goodbye to the kids, but I have already done so in my heart. We took pics with the teachers and prayed together. We hugged each other ... Though we only have known each other for one week, it seems that there is a special bonding among us, and I believe that it is the love of God that binds us together. I have been to many mission trips before, involving in different projects together with the local brothers and sisters, but it is my first time feeling so difficult to say goodbye.

The taxi driver - He has been with us in the past week. I really like him. Although we don't know what he is saying most of the times (he knows very little English, and we don't understand his language),there is a special relationship between him and us, and squeezing into his car is actually quite fun. He drove us home this evening, and we took pics. Again, it is difficult to say goodbye.

We visited a primary school this evening. I thank God that we have the chance to visit this school. Actually, we were supposed to have the VBS at this school, but it has been canceled due to some reasons. We have been saying that the kindergarten we have been teaching in the past week is small, but after visiting this primary school, what the kindergarten has is luxurious. The students are on summer holiday right now, but I could imagine so many students cramping into a small room like that - not just the size, some of the rooms have no windows. How blessed are the students in HK (and in many parts of the world)! While I was standing in the classroom - looking around, hearing the teacher's sharing, my heart cried ... When one of the teachers shared with us the challenges and difficulties of the students, my heart was broken. But at the same time, I could see how these teachers are so faithful and persevere, most importantly, I have witnessed how God has been so faithful. He is always the Faithful One. The school has many needs, but our God is the God of Provision. He knows the school, the students and the teachers (and all their families) more than anyone else. More importantly, He loves each one of them more than anyone could have loved them, and He is the power to accomplish His good will at the right timing!

I could have just satisfied with what our team and the local teachers have done in the kindergarten in the past week, but visiting this primary school as the final program of the trip is a blessing and a reminder to me. God reminds me that - there is much more to be done. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few ... Lord, please send our your works into the harvest field! And Lord, help me to know Your way, to know how to be a partner with other brothers and sisters in the work of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

And I have to say goodbye to Egypt very soon. Honestly, my impression and feelings of Egypt and the people weren’t really good, but it is different now. I guess, I was a tourist the last three times I was here, and all the places I went to were mostly tourist spots. But it is different this time. I am not a tourist. And I have close interaction with the local people, especially brothers and sisters. I don’t know when I will come back to Egypt again, but definitely, I will continue to pray for this country and the people! May God bless and heal this land!
