Welcome to our Called to Love: Egypt M site.

We have created this website and blog for a few purposes. We want to encourage the online community that God's work is not over as long as there are obedient and willing hearts. Second of all, we want this community to support and lift us up in prayer, as we present requests, ask for supplication or have thanksgiving. We will be posting about our thoughts, experiences and spiritual growth because it is the passion of our team to be held accountable to the body of Christ, to God and to ourselves; and we recognize that God calls us to be this way.

Please leave your thoughts and responses in the Comments section of each of our blogs.

New Update : PHOTO JOURNAL

Saturday, August 2, 2008

Finally, we have a sight-seeing day today (Fri). We went to the pyramids early in the morning, a little bit shopping, lunch, shopping again. It was very hot today. Well, the taxi driver said it was 36 degree, but I guess it could be even higher when we were under the sun. Did I buy anything today? Yes, a postcard of Egypt, and a necklace with the word 'grace' on a silver pentant.

I am not really enthusastic about the pyramid, guess I have been there twice before. It just reminds me of the good old days when me and my friends visited the pyramids. Well, of course I went there with four other lovely brothers and sisters this year, so it is different - if I had to go to the pyramids for the 4th time I would definitely remember today, especially the special moments spent with my teammates.

I am very tired these few days, so do the other four. I guess it is the weather. The worker does advise us that we should take a nap everyday. Well, we certainly feel the need - but we have been very busy the past few days, and we just didn't have time to sleep in the afternoon. I could just fall asleep while talking to people ... But guess I could really rest and sleep well when I am back to HK.

Have to talk about our taxi driver. He is a very nice M. He is retired, and a good friend of the worker here; he is the one who has been driving us to different places the past week, waiting for us for hours without any complaints but with smile and encouragement. His taxi is not a big one. Well, in regard to our team, it can be considered as a small one. Billy always sit in the front because he is the tallest, while Yolanda, Yan, Sam, and I have to squeeze at the back. Our positions are really funny sometimes (e.g. S-shaped). Well, though it is a bit tiring and uncomfortable sometimes (especially with the heat), it is actualy quite fun.

We will have a party with the kids and their parents tomororw (Sat). We spent hours on making more than 100 'cross' bookmarks today (cutting the paper, writing a bible verse on the bookmark etc.). I don't really like cutting, and I am not good at it. Feeling a bit frustrated in the beginning as I had to cut those papers, but I knew that I had to do it. This is something what I have to learn - not cutting papers, but learning to do stuff that I don't really like.

It is getting late now .. nearly 2am here in Cairo. Better go to bed now :)
