Welcome to our Called to Love: Egypt M site.

We have created this website and blog for a few purposes. We want to encourage the online community that God's work is not over as long as there are obedient and willing hearts. Second of all, we want this community to support and lift us up in prayer, as we present requests, ask for supplication or have thanksgiving. We will be posting about our thoughts, experiences and spiritual growth because it is the passion of our team to be held accountable to the body of Christ, to God and to ourselves; and we recognize that God calls us to be this way.

Please leave your thoughts and responses in the Comments section of each of our blogs.

Sabah El khyar (Good Morning)! What an exciting long day! As it was a day that lasted 29 hours and with little sleep, we seemed to have accomplished so much. I really loved how our contact person (CP) organized our day. She gave us chances to learn the language and to try out the language, although when we tried it out no one could really understand what we said, nonetheless, it was a great experience.

She also gave us tasks to do by going on the undergrounds and getting a taxi ourselves and to see and compare different parts of the city (one part full of M's, rare for tourists and one part that is slightly westernized). I don't think we would get these experiences on any holiday tours. The parts that made the biggest difference from any holiday tours is that we get to pray and reflect on how we experience God. Yes, even though we haven't done any evangelizing yet, I can feel God presences with us. I can totally feel my goal in this trip is to seek God's presences rather than God's presents!

I still feel completely tired from the lack of sleep that I stored up in Hong Kong over the past year, but I feel energized by God's Holy presences. I feel excited for the days ahead.

On a different note, coming on this trip has made me realized the urgent need to pray for the M's. M's are really devoted to their religion and they really do set themselves apart from the world. Perhaps that's a good reflection for us Christians. Do we stand out from the crowd and reflect Jesus? Can people spot us from afar and say that, "Oh, she is a Christian!"? I hope I can do that one day that people would know that I'm a Christian without me having to tell them. I know I won't be able to do that myself, it is with God's almighty power that He can transform me.

I pray that God will continue to mold me and make me. I know I'm secure in my potter's hand. I also pray that God will used His people to M as effective instruments to evangelized to them. May God open the M's hearts and see who God really is. May Egypt once again become a Christian country where Jesus once laid His feet!
