Welcome to our Called to Love: Egypt M site.

We have created this website and blog for a few purposes. We want to encourage the online community that God's work is not over as long as there are obedient and willing hearts. Second of all, we want this community to support and lift us up in prayer, as we present requests, ask for supplication or have thanksgiving. We will be posting about our thoughts, experiences and spiritual growth because it is the passion of our team to be held accountable to the body of Christ, to God and to ourselves; and we recognize that God calls us to be this way.

Please leave your thoughts and responses in the Comments section of each of our blogs.

We had our last lesson of the VBS today. We arrived at the kindergarten later than usual, and once we opened the door the children just all came to us with their hands up, wanting to shake hand with us (shaking hand is their way of saying hi). It guess it's because it was us waiting for them in the past three days, but they didn't see us right there in the morning. They were waiting for us, and they got excited when we were finally there ... So sweet :) Well, they are not going to see us next week ... will they miss us? will they be disappointed? Surely I will miss these lovely children.

Our team has a good sharing this afternoon. We have sharing every day - songs, devotional sharing, prayer, evaluation of the VBS. I believe that this fellowship time is important - we are doing God's works, and how could we not pray and study His Word? Today we also have a honest sharing of how we have been doing in the past few days - our strengths, areas we need to improve on etc. It could be difficult for some people - they may feel upset, being critized, being judged, even angry when people give them negative comments. And I thank God that our team can really share what's in their hearts, and share their thoughts in love, with the purpose of building up one another. It is really the love of God that binds us together. Praise the LORD!

We attended an English worship service this evening. It just reminds me of the brothers and sisters in HK ... Time flies and we will leave Egypt soon. Well, I don't really miss home. In fact, I enjoy the days here. But I know that I would feel differently if I live here longer, especially after the honeymoon period (i.e. about six months).

We have dinner at a Chinese restaurant tonight, together with a brother who is working in Egypt. We have a good time. And we find out that we have common friends!!! (who? well .. if you really want to know, ask me later :)). God's love is really amazing that we could share with one another though we just met.

Well, we are going to do some sight-seeing and shopping tomorrow Friday. Will be going to the pyramid. hmm .. I am not really excited about it. Have been there twice already - one in summer, one in winter. But it is good to visit it again.

A prayer item - we will have a party with the Sudanese children (whom we taught) and their parents this Sat morning. Let's pray as we (the school teachers and the team)prepare the 2-hour program (e.g. sharing, message, activity etc.) Pray that more parents can come (the public holiday is on Friday rather than Sunday, so the parents may need to work) and that this party will become an encouragement, a reminder, also a blessing to them as they train up their kids in the instructions of the Lord!
