Welcome to our Called to Love: Egypt M site.

We have created this website and blog for a few purposes. We want to encourage the online community that God's work is not over as long as there are obedient and willing hearts. Second of all, we want this community to support and lift us up in prayer, as we present requests, ask for supplication or have thanksgiving. We will be posting about our thoughts, experiences and spiritual growth because it is the passion of our team to be held accountable to the body of Christ, to God and to ourselves; and we recognize that God calls us to be this way.

Please leave your thoughts and responses in the Comments section of each of our blogs.

New Update : PHOTO JOURNAL

Today was the second day of the VBS. My passion for children is only increasing. In them, I see the innocence and beauty that God created so perfectly.

We also visited an orphanage called _________. It caters not only orphans, but people who have mental health problems and have been rejected by their family and society. There are 43 people who live here, in addition to the staff of 8 that takes care of them.

When I look at this project, I see the injustice of this world. The orphanage is in a tiny and run down complex of 3 floors. Imagine 50 people living on 3 tiny floors. The area is dirty and dark, and an unhygienic smell is present. I know these people do not deserve this - they did not choose their disability and the family who rejected them. I cry for them.

But I also see the beauty of the hearts of the people who have chosen to serve these outcasts. To serve Jesus in this way, and to be an example of humbleness and giving Love. It started as a small project, with only a few people having this vision to help the mentally ill. This work, I cannot give enough words to give it due appreciation, other than to say that I am confident that in this, God is glorified.

Pray with me that God will continue to bless these people and the people who have given up their comfort in the name of Love, for the sake of Christ. Pray with me that even though they are disadvantaged by this world's standards, that God will lavish His unending mercy on them and bring them to great joy that only our Faithful Father can give, resting assured that their work is beautiful in the eyes of Jesus.

I have seen so much brokenness on this trip so far. There is so much tragedy and injustice, a lot of them caused by the sub-standards of this world. But where I see pain, I see the opportunity for Christ to work. And just like grace increases with our sin, may God's blessings only increase, so that it might reflect His power and glory. Amen.
